Every person, young or old, has that one thing they talk about all day. It could be health, fitness, money, fashion, economy, innovation, cars, food, relationships, comedy, politics, travel, entrepreneurship, leadership, faith, agriculture, architecture, education, tech, et al.

It’s the topic that excites you, challenges you, and makes you come alive. That passion isn’t random – it’s a clue to something bigger.

Perhaps you talk about these things online. Sometimes you succeed, other times not so much. It has nothing to do with the quality of your posts, it’s just that social media is noisy. And even the things we deem most important get lost in the rubble.

But what if… your voice could cut through the noise?

What if your ideas could contribute to something lasting, something that makes people stop, listen, and reflect?

For more than 25 years, my life has been woven into the fabric of storytelling. My career in media began as an intern at Kenya Television Network (KTN). Those early days laid the foundation for everything that followed: curiosity, resilience, and a deep respect for the power of storytelling. Over the years, I explored different paths across leading media houses in East Africa, honing my craft and expanding my understanding of how media shapes societies.

My work has taken me beyond Kenya to global stages across Africa, the Middle East, and Europe, where I have moderated high-level panels, conducted thought-provoking interviews, and facilitated cross-cultural dialogues. These experiences affirmed for me that stories, when told with authenticity, transcend borders and awaken our shared humanity. Whether in front of the camera, behind it, or on international platforms, my focus has remained the same: to create spaces where stories can be told with dignity and heard with empathy.

Catherine Mwangi is one of the very few bold managers we have in East Africa with solid leadership skills. They say a mediocre leader tells, a good leader explains, a superior leader demonstrates, while a great leader inspires. Catherine is a great leader & my mentor.

Catherine Mwangi is a prolific team leader and manager. I’ve worked with Catherine for over six years. During our time together in a boss-employee relationship, Catherine exuded enviable mentorship and talent grooming skills. At the very beginning of our relationship, she came though as the most dependable person in the production and programming department. She always had quick and handy solutions for short term and long term problems.

I worked as a TV Presenter on NTV Uganda between 2010 and 2012. During my second year at NTV, Ms. Catherine Mwangi joined the station as Head of Production and I reported directly to her. It is rare for one to come across a supervisor like Cathy, I have yet to work under the wing of a person who is more a mentor than a boss. Working with Cathy was a pure pleasure – she cultivates relationships with staff and has a great work ethic and integrity, not to mention her extensive knowledge of the media landscape in East Africa.

She is not just one of the most talented and experienced broadcast TV professionals in Kenya but anywhere. She is sharp, insightful, engaging, confident, and articulate in front of the camera and very successful as a senior creative television manager.
